CHAIRS NEWSLETTER MARCH 11TH 2024

Dear club members we have had great success in several areas over the last few weeks. Teams at all levels have done well, results appear on the website and other media. On Saturday 23 rd March the 1 st XV travel to Royston for the last league fixture of the season. Winning will mean they are champions of the Herts Middx league 3. There is a coach going to the match, there may be some places on it for spectators. Check media early next week.

This week sees the finale of the 6 nations. After England’s fantastic result against Ireland and Italy’s against Scotland. We can look forward to a good day’s rugby on Saturday. If there is a home game the club will be open at 1pm (TBA). If not at 1-45pm for the first six nations match. Final arrangements will follow later.

The Quiz night was a great success last Friday raising around £900 for the tour weekend.

Thanks to Sonja Goulder-Perks for arranging the super food, Juliette Warren as question master and anyone else who helped to make it a success.

Thanks to all volunteers who have given their time on a Sunday to do carpark duty, do refreshment sales and serve players after game food often into the early afternoon. Thanks also for the excellent clearing of the kitchen, washing up, and clearing of the clubroom floor of furniture ready for the cleaner early on Monday morning.

At our club committee meeting last week we decided to support the Coaches end of season social with a small financial gesture of support for their hard work this season, and a contribution to coaches awards for 2023-24. Financial support was also voted for Matty for a fun inclusion day he and a team are organising in the summer and finally support for Chung towards media and marketing.

CONGRATULATIONS TO Sonja Goulder-Perks who is our volunteer of the month for providing the food for the quiz night.

Watch this space for Saturdays fixture update.

Regards Ian ‘Shanks ‘ Chair
