Happy Christmas to you all. Presents are always not best saved for Christmas!

Today there was a well attended Christmas league lunch with nearly 60 members and friends in attendance. The weather was awful, and to make it worse our opposition Bank withdraw at the last minute after the game had been on and off all week. Good news that we collected the points but unlucky for our supporters at the lunch and others who missed watching a game. We are now top of the table and play our last game before Christmas at Berkhamsted, next week.

Before the meal it was announced by John White our President that John Murfet, a previous long time player and now Honorary life member, has donated, on top of a number of previous donations over the last years, the magnificent sum of £29,500 to the club. Your committee, together with John, will discuss possibilities for spending the money over the next year or so. The even better news is that it hopefully can be gift aided as well, so a total of around £34000 is possible.

Juliette Warren was down selling Christmas raffle tickets at the lunch and sold over £400 worth as well as attendees giving numerous prizes for the raffle.

I am off to see my family the States and am out there for Christmas and the new year.

Best wishes to all over the festive period.

Regards,

Ian ‘Shanks’ Graham
